Through a meticulous production process, we overcame technical challenges and refined every detail to create unique dials where aesthetics and functionality merge harmoniously. Musou Black™ paint treatment
The first step in the production process involves treating Musou Black™. In its original formulation, this paint is not designed to adhere to metal surfaces like brass. For this reason, we treat it with a specific thinner that modifies its properties, ensuring uniform application and perfect adhesion. Every stage of this transformation requires absolute precision to preserve the unique qualities of the paint.
Once prepared, the paint is carefully mixed and transferred to a small airbrush. The painting phase is carried out entirely by hand, requiring great attention and a skilled eye. Each brass disc is precisely positioned and subjected to multiple passes to ensure uniform coverage. Even the smallest mistake or a poorly calculated movement can compromise the result, requiring the entire process to be repeated.
Drying in a dust-free space
After painting, the dials are transferred to a completely dust-free environment. Drying is a crucial phase: the painted surface is extremely delicate, and any contamination, no matter how minimal, could alter the absolute black effect we have achieved. For this reason, we constantly monitor the environmental conditions to ensure that each piece maintains its integrity.
Applying the logo: precision at its peak
After the dials have fully dried, the logo is meticulously applied by hand. This step requires unparalleled precision and craftsmanship, as the logo must seamlessly align with the design without disrupting the fragile, pristine surface of the finish. Every movement is calculated and deliberate, as even the slightest misstep could mar the dial’s perfect appearance. This meticulous process underscores the level of detail and expertise that goes into every Ultrablack dial, showcasing the dedication required to achieve flawless results.

With the dial completed, the watch enters the assembly stage—a process of utmost delicacy for this unique model. The Ultrablack dial’s sensitive surface demands extraordinary caution; even a faint blemish, excessive force, or stray fingerprint could ruin its immaculate appearance. To safeguard the finish, specialized handling techniques and tools are employed, ensuring that every component is integrated with absolute care.
